The Super73-ZX is the vintage-inspired e-bike you need

E-bikes fill a lot of different needs, from Baby transportation and groceries To help you deal Steep grades on bumpy trails. But if recoil aesthetics is your main priority, the new Super73-ZX is definitely worth a look. Original California brand renewal Z1 modelThe ZX features a redesigned frame, vintage styling, and enough oomph to get you and your passenger up to 28 miles per hour.

The Super73-ZX is an entry-level e-bike, but it’s an important step up from the Z1. It’s made with a new aluminum alloy frame that’s lighter than steel, allowing for improved range, and it’s larger, meaning the bike offers a better fit for taller riders. It can carry up to 325 pounds, and it also comes with a new removable battery, so you can charge it without dragging the entire bike inside. There’s no suspension on this bike, but the big tires on 20-inch wheels should absorb some of the bumps and keep your ride from getting too disruptive.

The ZX is designed to be as versatile as possible. With a 750W motor and thumb throttle, it’s set up as a Class 2 e-bike, which means you can ride it on most public streets and e-bike-friendly trails, and you don’t need a motorcycle license (you can also put it in Class 1 or Class 3 mode to comply with regulations in your area). Range will vary depending on factors such as rider weight and terrain, but the Super73 estimates that the bike should reach anywhere from 25 to 50 miles on a single charge. This should be more than enough juice for a day of commuting or a fun weekend getaway before you need to plug it in again.

The old ZX aesthetics aren’t just for show; It also makes the bike fun and easy to ride. The Super73 has redesigned the banana-style seat to be more comfortable, and it’s long enough for a (small) passenger to ride, too. The tall, adjustable handlebars create an upright riding position, so getting off on the ZX is like riding a motorcycle—except for the moaning and fouling of the gas engine.

The ZX also comes with an app that lets you adjust your ride and download software upgrades over the air. You can choose from four drive modes – Eco, Tour, Sport and Super – to adjust the level of boost you get from the engine. The LCD screen on the handlebars displays your riding position, and when you enter a destination in the app, it will also show step-by-step directions as you ride.

The ZX is available in two colors – Moon Rock and Storm Gray – and the Super73 is expected to begin delivery in mid-July.
