The specifications of the new Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro 2022 I showed, while there is a file Truck Not a major redesign of last year’s model, the Ready for the trail The mid-size pickup is getting some major upgrades (and a flashy new color) that will make it more curb-able. The TRD Pro is Tacoma’s best off-road performance model, and if you’re looking for a pickup that can handle tough trails straight from the showroom, the 2022 model is a safe bet.
First, the basics. Like previous models, the 2022 Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro comes standard as a four-door double-cab. It’s powered by a 3.5-liter V6 engine that produces 278 horsepower and 265 pound-feet of torque, and is available with either a six-speed automatic transmission or a six-speed manual transmission. Even in 2022, you can still paddle your gears in a new 4×4 pickup truck—a big win for its fans.
Although the cab design and drivetrain remain the same, Toyota has added some notable mechanical upgrades to the latest Tacoma TRD Pro, and it’s aimed squarely at off-roaders. The 2022 Tacoma features raised suspension: 1.5 inches in the front and 0.5 inches in the rear, compared to the 2021 model. It also comes with redesigned upper control arms that allow the truck’s internal bypass shock absorbers to make the most of the increased travel.
With the modified suspension, the truck deploys a 36.4-degree approach angle, 24.7-degree departure angle and 26.6-degree break-in angle, all of which are significant improvements over the 2021 TRD Pro version. This means that it will be able to climb over taller obstacles without scraping or damaging the parts on the bottom.
The truck will also wear exclusive TRD Pro wheels in black with red “TRD” center caps, and will come wrapped with new Goodyear Territory all-terrain tires. According to Toyota, the new wheels widen the truck’s track width, which should provide a little extra stability when navigating off-camber trails.
And what about this eye-catching (or attractive, depending on who you ask) color? This is Electric Lime Metallic, the new shade Toyota revealed for 2022, available exclusively on TRD Pro. If you’re looking for something a little understated, you can also choose your truck with Super White, Magnetic Gray Metallic and Midnight Black Metallic paint. Toyota also tweaked some of the badges and added a “TRD Pro” logo stamped along the rear quarter panel instead of the painted sticker on last year’s model.
Toyota has not released pricing details, but Car driver It is estimated that the truck will retail for approximately $45,500. You can see the full list of specifications Here.
