Photo Tour: Northwest Health – La Porte

After joining Community Health Systems’ Northwest Health Regional Network (CHS; Franklin, Tennessee), Laporte Hospital received funding to replace its outdated, small-scale, and operationally ineffective facilities. The new center wanted the style to match the color palette, materials, and look of other facilities within its network while setting a modern, modern tone. It will use the exterior and interior panels of the new hospital as a basis for designing future health system projects.

Northwest Health’s four-story facade – the clean, modern La Porte façade does this by combining traditional brick, modern sheet metal, and large expanses of glass.

Inside, the two-storey lobby features ornate stained glass panels that the design team carried over from the past [ok? yes] Attached to a distinctive wall behind the massive stairs, it leads to a shared second-floor antechamber and registration areas. Large windows stacked at the corner of elevator lobbies and waiting rooms heighten views of the surrounding area and direct visitors back into the city.

The $ 88 million project includes 84 private inpatient rooms. To improve the efficiency of care, each floor contains several nursing stations as well as separate monitoring stations outside the patient rooms of the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). The hospital is also distinguished by a separate distribution of staff; Lifts for materials, equipment and food service; And a dedicated elevator for transporting patients to surgery, the intensive care unit, labor and delivery, and a rooftop helipad.

In addition to inpatient services, the new 200,000-square-foot acute care hospital includes emergency services, outpatient surgery, cardiovascular services at the Heart and Critical Care Center, orthopedic services, childbirth and family care services.
