Wake up and smile with this vital shower gel!
I love using this natural shower gel recipe in the morning.
It is full of stimulating essential oils that help stimulate blood circulation and increase mental awareness. Even if you are not a morning person, this recipe can induce a slow, sleepy morning routine!
This is largely thanks to rosemary essential oil.
Rosemary has been used throughout history to improve mental performance – including perception, memory and attention span. It also inspires self-confidence.
Author Gabriel Mogae wrote it beautifully when he wrote, “Rosemary warms the soul and makes it bold.”
Why is rosemary a traditional plant with a sharp mind?
Because it helps circulate energy through them
Your head (or wherever you apply it topically).
I’ll explain the science behind rosemary (and the other essential oils in this recipe) below.
First, let’s get to the recipe!
Rosemary morning shower gel
- 1 ounce (30 ml) of Castile soap
- 1 ounce (30 ml) of aloe vera gel
- 12 drops of rosemary essential oil (Rosmarinus officinalis Ct. Camphor or ct. 1,8 cineole/ Salvia Rosmarinus)
- 8 drops hemlock essential oil (Tsuga canadensis)
- 6 drops of wild carrot essential oil (Dojos Caruta)
- 5 drops of cardamom essential oil (Eleitaria Hill)
Make this natural shower gel recipe in a 2-ounce (60ml) plastic bottle.
Plastic is great for showering, because you don’t have to worry about glass breaking if you drop the bottle. PET is a safe, non-filterable plastic. Use the top cover to get out a little, or unscrew the cover and use the loofah or piece of cloth you want.
Mix aloe vera gel and Castile soap in the 2-ounce bottle.
Then add the essential oils drops.
Shake this mixture well after making it and before every use. The essential oils are dispersed in Castile soap, but Castile soap and Aloe Vera may separate. Shake the bottle well to mix it again.
Make this mix with me!
Let’s take a closer look at the essential oils in this natural shower gel recipe.
Rosemary essential oil
Rosmarinus officinalis Ct. Camphor or ct. 1,8 cineole/ Salvia Rosmarinus
Studies in 2003, 2009, and 2012 found that rosemary – with its refreshing herbal scent – had a stimulating effect on the mind, improving cognitive performance and inspiring an active and positive mood.
This is largely due to the large quantities of camphor or 1,8 cineole In rosemary oil.
These ingredients helped make rosemary a springboard for mental clarity throughout history.
You can even use rosemary for memory!
Hemlock essential oil
Tsuga canadensis
Don’t worry – hemlock essential oil doesn’t come from a poisonous plant!
This fresh pine oil is distilled from a coniferous tree. The poisonous form of chamluc comes from a small plant in the parsley family.
Hemlock contains the ingredient Purnyl Acetate.
In small amounts, oils rich in bordell acetate can help lift feelings of fatigue due to stress. (Large amounts may have the opposite effect, making you sleepy!) Our natural shower gel recipe contains as little as 1% Hemlock Oil per ounce, so it’s gentle and stimulating!
Wild carrot oi essentialto
Dojos Caruta
Thanks to its component Giranyl acetate, Wild carrot oil has the power to help your body through the natural detoxing process – great for helping you feel cleansed inside and out!
This earthy, sweet woody oil can support open breathing, so you can take deep, invigorating breaths while you shower.
Cardamom essential oil
Eleitaria Hill
A 2012 study identified one of the main ingredients in cardamom oil. 1,8-cineole, To enhance cognitive performance.
This ingredient helps circulate your energy and deepen your breath.
This is part of the reason this hot, sweet oil has been called the “vertical” oil – an oil that promotes alertness and mental response.
These four oils have even more benefits for your natural shower gel recipe!
In addition to helping you feel clear, sharp and enthusiastic, oils can all help reduce the presence of germs.
Castile soap does most of the work in cleaning your skin, and the enzymes in aloe vera gel help calm the irritation.
But adding essential oils takes this shower gel’s germ elimination benefits to the next level.
