Brooke Boulden lost 23 kg after subscribing to 28 day weight loss challenge. She’s dropped from 84.5kg to 60.8kg and a size of 16/18 to a size 8/10!

A mother of two who is based in South Australia says, “I can vividly remember the defining moment that made me determined to lose weight. A friend sent me a picture I took earlier that day,”Says.

“It was for my baby and me. You can’t see my body in the picture, so it doesn’t look like much. But I was amazed! My face was always the last place on my body to show weight and I couldn’t believe how plump it looked.

“Combine that with how I felt when the photo was taken—heavy, exhausting, lethargic—and the last two months of thinking about making a change. It was my time!”Brooke has reached her goal weight after losing 23kg but she still has goals!

Remarkably, Brooke says the biggest thing I ever took from him healthy mummy, are the lessons I’ve learned.

“The Healthy Mummy taught me that it is important to make myself a priority. By doing this, I am in the best mental space since I became a mother four years ago,” Says.

“I didn’t make all the changes overnight. It was practical. I fell off the wagon and got back in. I started with simple, simple changes that I can manage while trying to survive parenting.

“Since I felt comfortable with one, I combined the other. Step by step it changed my body and mind. I’ve learned that being organized, eating healthy, exercising, and being mentally healthy all go hand in hand.”

Brooke says she still has days to fall off the healthy eating bandwagon!

And Brooke admits she still has days off — and that’s okay!

“I still have fixed days, I’m human. But I’ve learned that all I can really control is my thoughts and my actions,” Says.

“I choose to be grateful, I choose to try, I choose what I eat, I choose to exercise, I choose how I feel. Life is about balance and moderation is key and I’m here to enjoy my journey.

“The Healthy Mummy, through the app and online community, has provided me with the tools and motivation to realize this and make changes in my life. It has given me back my perseverance and drive to be the best version of myself.”

How did Brooke lose weight?

1. Juices

“I absolutely love my country Healthy mummy juices!! I use smoothies for nutrition and ease that would keep me from choosing unhealthy foods when I’m limited in time.

“I mostly like how versatile smoothies are. They can be easy and convenient or you can assemble them. If you’re short on time, add liquid, shake and go. If you have the time, add some ingredients to the blender for flair!”

“It’s very easy to get them out and about. I often take them for picnics with the kids, a delicious, easy and healthy option.”

2. Super Greens

“I recently started drinking Super Greens I will continue to do so. They help lift my energy, and they strike that sweet craving and savory taste”

3. Body Sculpting Lotion

“My favorite mummy skin health The product is a body sculpting lotion. It works!! I definitely can’t live without this.

“I am at the end of my weight loss journey, with only a few kilos and focus on toning. In 7 weeks, I have lost 5cm from my waist and 4cm from my hips.

“I’ve been using the body sculpting lotion morning and evening. In addition to my regular workouts. It just works, smells lovely and makes my skin silky smooth.”

What does brooke eat all day?

breakfast

Eggs, either fried with feta cheese and pepper or mixed with cheese.

On the weekends, we use Health Mummy’s eggs and bacon cups, pancakes, waffles, or French toast. There are a lot of options to choose from. The kids eat the base, while I enjoy the delicious toppings.”

lunch

“Either I left overs from the night before, some form of healthy mummy quiche from my freezer stash or juiced. I don’t have the time or energy to make fancy stuff at lunchtime, so I like the basics.

dinner

“Healthy mummy recipe from the app. I often cook dinner on the spot, so the best meals can be prepared, cooked and served within an hour.”

Our current favorites are the Cajun chicken and grilled vegetables and chicken, cashew and stir-fried broccoli. They are delicious, but what I love the most is that I can break up and add rice for the kids. The family she goes to includes steamed vegetables and some types of meat (steak or homemade chicken schnitzel). “

Snacks

“Fruit, cheese, crackers, homemade muesli bars or healthy recipes for moms. I avoid nuts (unless they’re in a recipe) to avoid my calories going high.

Sweet snacks include Bites Bites, Chocolate Chip Biscuits, Chocolate Fudge Protein Brownies, Lemon Meringue Pie and Sticky Date Pudding

Delicious snacks include Parmesan-baked zucchini sticks, pesto spinach and ricotta wrap, and tomato and olive pancakes. “

Candy

“It’s usually two squares of chocolate or healthy mummy recipes. I like to collect pre-made snacks and desserts to store in the freezer or refrigerator for a few days.

I don’t like wastage and love to have something easy, quick and delicious to grab on the go. Plus, if you store it in the freezer, it can help you control your portion as you need to make an effort to defrost before eating.”

workouts

“Workouts are one of my most favorite features of the Healthy Mummy app. In the long run, my favorite is the belly buster and booty.

The exercises start simple and build up as you get stronger. Plus, I lie flat on the floor for some, does that really work. I absolutely love the Take 10 Step exercises. I love the Step app and now I can access it in the app!

If I only have time to do a quick workout, I only do once. If I need more intensity, I can do a few times. The exercises are versatile and fit every need.”

3 tips from Brooke for success

1. Expect that it will take some time. You don’t want a quick fix. You want to make a lifestyle change that you maintain.

2. Find the exercise you like to do. If you look forward to your activity, you will do it and it will not feel like hard work. You will always feel the height of your headspace after you have been active.

3. Think about your goal, Why do you want to achieve it and commit. There will be times when you are not motivated but commitment will help you achieve your goals. Make small changes, achieve one, make it a habit and start the next. Taking small steps will make achieving your goal easier and faster than taking big leaps.

“Losing weight is a journey and it is all about your mind and choice. There will be times when you are on the right track and crash into your goals,” Brooke adds.

“Then there will be times when you fall off the wagon. You might catch yourself right away, but you might drag your feet and not know which direction to go.

“Please remember this. It’s hard to lose weight. Gaining weight is hard. Discipline is hard. Regret is hard. Change is hard. Not changing is hard. Choose what works for you.”
