This cocktail is inspired by both the Mexican paloma and the classic Italian spritz. Tom Byrne, manager of the bar, says GoNotting Hill, London. The lemon leaves in this drink can be substituted with other citrus leaves, adding a refreshing herbaceous flavor to complete the cocktail, he says.
- 1 oz Mezcal Campante
- 1 oz Aperol
- 0.33 oz aloe vera syrup
- 1 ounce fresh grapefruit juice
- 3 oz soft drink
- 1 lemon leaf
- Mix all ingredients except soda in a glass of wine. Add ice to the top of the glass and stir quickly until blended.
- Put the soda and add the lemon leaves to garnish, and push the paper through the soda to mix, breaking the skin a little to get rid of the oils.
